Life and public service
Salahuddin Ahmed studied law at the University of Dhaka before entering legal practice and the BCS administration cadre. He served as an assistant private secretary to Prime Minister Khaleda Zia during 1991–1996. His public career includes parliamentary representation of Cox’s Bazar-1, service as a state minister for communications in the 2001 government, and membership of the BNP standing committee.
